ZTE planted 300 mangrove seedlings at the Mangrove Ecotourism Centre PIK in Jakarta as part of its One Tree, One Future program. The company says the planting supports its Green Digital Path sustainability strategy, which covers operations, supply chain, digital infrastructure, and industry empowerment. ZTE also highlights SBTi-validated targets: carbon neutrality in operations by 2040 and net-zero by 2050, with Scope 1 and 2 emissions down 46% in 2025 versus a 2021 baseline.\n\nThe announcement includes supplier-facing climate work, such as dual-carbon training for 97 suppliers and carbon accounting reports from 152 key partners. ZTE also showcased data center cooling technologies and runs a Joint Innovation Center with XLSMART in Jakarta focused on AI-based network optimization. The mangrove site will be monitored for growth, though the estimated 35.5 kg CO2e absorption is minimal relative to corporate emissions. The more substantial story is the supply chain reporting and the 2040 operational carbon target.
