Zhongshou Special Steel has started operations at its new Arvedi ESP plant in Hebei Province, China. The facility moves away from traditional blast furnace and LD converter routes, instead utilizing an electric arc furnace and endless casting and rolling technology to reduce carbon emissions. This second-generation ESP plant is designed to produce hot-rolled coils with a significantly lower carbon footprint. By integrating renewable energy and efficient casting, the plant aims to meet international green steel standards and navigate carbon border adjustment mechanisms like CBAM.
