ZERO44 launches first combined carbon insetting and FuelEU compliance module for shipping
cyprusshippingnews.comZERO44, a maritime emissions compliance platform, has introduced a Carbon Insetting module that lets operators manage low-carbon fuel reductions for both voluntary Scope 3 sales and regulatory compliance under FuelEU Maritime. The tool automates the additionality split, ensuring volumes sold to cargo owners for insetting are automatically deducted from the vessel's FuelEU surplus balance, based on live price data. The module pulls from the same Bunker Delivery Notes and Proof of Sustainability data already used for compliance reporting, eliminating spreadsheet-based tracking and duplicate entry. It can push data directly to a chosen registry, with 123Carbon already integrated. For operators, this means they can compare the value of each fuel volume as either FuelEU surplus or an insetting certificate, then act on the better option per bunkering event.
