Zero Carbon Harrogate Film Screening Nearly Sold Out, Showing Strong Local Climate Interest
harrogateadvertiser.co.ukA Harrogate climate charity says the response to its upcoming film screening proves there is clear local interest in climate change. Zero Carbon Harrogate, founded in 2016, has almost sold out its October 21 event at St Mark's Church, where it will show The People's Emergency Briefing, a film about climate and nature risks to food, water, health, and finances. The group has a track record of local engagement, including running Car Free Fridays across dozens of schools in the district. The screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion, giving attendees a chance to turn what they watch into local action. Zero Carbon Harrogate has worked with North Yorkshire Council on sustainability programmes and sees the event as a way to keep residents, businesses, and politicians focused on decarbonisation. Nearly all tickets are gone, which suggests community climate initiatives still draw real participation.
