Zefiro Methane Starts First Carbon Sequestration Well in Indiana, Adds Michigan Emergency Work
stocktitan.netZefiro Methane has kicked off operations in Indiana and Michigan, including its first carbon sequestration project. The Indiana job is an eight-week well completion worth about $750,000, using rigs acquired in the May 2026 Viking Well Service purchase. In Michigan, the company is handling an emergency response on a well with hydrogen sulfide at the surface, a $500,000 single-well job that pays above typical rates. These projects mark Zefiro's entry into two new states and a new service line beyond well plugging. The sequestration work draws on the same downhole expertise used for plugging, but now places carbon underground instead of sealing wells. The Michigan work highlights the company's ability to take on dangerous conditions that few operators are equipped to handle. The revenue from both projects totals about $1.25 million. Zefiro says the Viking acquisition was the direct enabler, and management sees carbon sequestration as a growing demand category that fits their existing skills. Investors should watch how these projects execute and whether follow-on work materializes in either state.
