Zefiro begins first carbon sequestration project in Indiana and emergency well response in Michigan
newsfilecorp.comZefiro Methane Corp. has expanded operations into Indiana and Michigan, including its first carbon sequestration well. The Indiana project is an eight-week, US$750,000 effort to store carbon in a suitable geologic formation. In Michigan, the company is handling an emergency response at a well with hydrogen sulfide flowing to the surface, a job worth about US$500,000. The expansion follows the acquisition of Viking Well Service equipment in May 2026. Zefiro says the same crews and rigs used for plugging wells are now being used for sequestration and emergency response. The company sees carbon sequestration as a natural extension of its existing expertise. These projects mark Zefiro's first operations in both states. The Michigan emergency response requires supplied air and full ventilator systems due to hydrogen sulfide exposure risk. The company's CEO says the Viking acquisition enabled this growth.
