Yanmar America has installed a new advanced dynamometer facility, Dyno 6, at its Georgia site to develop cleaner industrial engines. The facility allows engineers to measure engine-out and tailpipe emissions simultaneously, speeding up the development of aftertreatment systems. This investment focuses on meeting upcoming Tier 5 emissions regulations for off-road diesel engines, specifically targeting aggressive NOx reduction requirements for engines over 56 kW. The local R&D capability also enables closer collaboration with OEMs like Thermo King to optimize engine performance in enclosed environments.
