Xpansiv Raises New Capital from Verdane to Expand Carbon Market Registries and Acquisitions
carbonherald.comXpansiv, a provider of registry and trading infrastructure for environmental commodities, has raised fresh capital from European growth investor Verdane. The funding will support acquisitions and expansion into new asset classes and geographies. Xpansiv's registries cover more than 320 GW of renewable capacity across 60 countries, representing about 4% of global electricity generation and 28% of renewable energy certificates issued worldwide in 2025. The company has been on an acquisition streak, buying APX, Evolution Markets, and Evident, the operator of the I-REC(E) registry. With Verdane's backing, Xpansiv aims to move faster on complementary technology acquisitions and scale its platform to meet growing demand for carbon credits, RECs, and clean fuel credits. While financial terms were not disclosed, the investment signals continued consolidation in environmental market infrastructure. Verdane, with over 200 investments and EUR 10 billion raised since 2003, is betting on Xpansiv's end to end infrastructure as the default layer for tracking and trading environmental attributes.
