Around 30 parking spaces on Worthing's Marine Parade will be closed from June 15 to July 22 as part of the Worthing Heat Network project. The work will connect Splashpoint Leisure Centre to the network, which uses underground insulated pipes to deliver hot water from a central energy centre. The developer Hemiko says traffic will continue to flow and businesses will remain open during the construction. The heat network is a major low carbon energy project for the town centre. Phase one completed in July 2024. Some business owners have criticized the disruption caused by earlier phases. Hemiko has paused planned works on Steyne Gardens and High Street due to engineering challenges and will share a revised start date later.
