Worley wins EPC contract for Uniper's low carbon power station at Connah's Quay with carbon capture
gasworld.comUniper has selected Worley as the preferred EPC contractor for a proposed low carbon power station at Connah's Quay in Deeside, UK. The plant would connect to the HyNet industrial cluster's CO2 transport and storage infrastructure, capturing at least 95% of its emissions. The first phase could be operational from 2030, with a potential capacity of up to 1.38 GW developed in two phases. Worley is working with Siemens Energy, SLB Capturi, and construction partners on the project. The contract follows completion of the front end engineering design competition. This project is part of the UK's push to decarbonize power generation using carbon capture and storage linked to depleted offshore gas fields.
