A new pedestrian bridge in Rosmalen, Netherlands, demonstrates the use of carbon-neutral concrete. The structure utilizes mineralization technology to permanently trap CO2 within the concrete mix, replacing a significant portion of traditional cement with carbon-storing materials. The project combines recycled aggregates and biochar to reduce the environmental impact of construction. While small in scale, the bridge serves as a real-world test for scaling low-carbon cement alternatives in public infrastructure.
