The World Bank has approved a financing package totaling nearly $1 billion to accelerate low-carbon industrial growth in Northeast Brazil. The initiative, anchored by a $500 million loan, will be channeled through Banco do Nordeste to support the region's vast wind and solar potential. Funding will target high-impact sectors including green steel, low-carbon cement, sustainable aviation fuels, and green fertilizers. The program also prioritizes common-user infrastructure, such as energy transmission and storage systems, to reduce risks for private investors and scale clean energy deployment.
