Wirral Council committee endorses next steps on climate action and building decarbonisation

Wirral Council's Environment, Climate Emergency and Transport Committee has endorsed priority actions for the coming year to cut carbon emissions and improve climate resilience. The committee reviewed progress on energy efficiency upgrades to council buildings, nature recovery projects, and external funding for major decarbonisation schemes. Some carbon reduction targets were missed, but the council plans to accelerate work on the largest sources of emissions, especially heating and transport.
