WinGD has successfully completed Factory Acceptance Testing for its X52DF-A-1.0 ammonia-fuelled engine. This milestone moves the company closer to commercial deployment of low-carbon propulsion systems, with the first engine slated for a 25,000m³ LPG/ammonia carrier in China. The engine platform uses high-pressure ammonia injection and a small amount of pilot fuel to maintain stability. Early results show significantly lower NOx emissions compared to traditional marine fuels, supporting the shipping industry's transition toward zero-carbon operations.
