Whittlebury Park Starts £4m Solar Investment With 231kW Rooftop Array
hospitalityandcateringnews.comWhittlebury Park in Northamptonshire has begun a £4m renewable energy programme, starting with a £174,000 rooftop solar installation on The Atrium. The 231kWp system is expected to generate enough electricity to power roughly 80 homes annually and cut the resort's carbon emissions by about 80 tonnes per year. Work started in September 2026, with commissioning scheduled for late October, and LCS Energy is handling delivery. The first phase is part of a larger push to reduce reliance on the National Grid, with another £4m solar installation planned. The resort's commercial director says the goal is to eventually generate almost all of its own electricity. The project is one of several sustainability moves in the hospitality sector, alongside net zero hotel programmes from Radisson and IHG.
