Classic political gotcha but it does highlight a real tension. You cannot ask for air conditioning because of heatwaves and then call climate targets left wing ideology in the same session.

The air conditioning question is interesting on its own. 39 degrees in classrooms is a real grid load issue. If Wales starts installing AC at scale that is a big new demand. Where does the power come from and at what cost?

Good point. The AC question also implies the minister accepts climate change is happening and adaptation is needed. That is consistent with the government's position. The Reform MS asking it seemed to accept the premise too. The other one did not. That is the confusion.

AC in schools is a band aid. Passive cooling like shading, insulation, and ventilation would be cheaper long term and reduce energy demand. But that requires capital upfront and political will. The minister mentioned elderly homes and hospitals too. That is a lot of retrofits.
