The World Economic Forum and UpLink have opened a call for early stage innovations aimed at making carbon dioxide removal (CDR) more bankable and scalable. The initiative focuses on fixing market bottlenecks, improving risk management, and creating better project finance models for the sector. Rather than focusing on new capture technologies, this challenge targets the financial and structural barriers that prevent CDR projects from securing large scale investment. Goals include strengthening transparency and developing robust monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems to reduce market friction.
