Wasabi launches cloud storage emissions trading tool for partners
technologydecisions.com.auCloud storage provider Wasabi Technologies has launched Wasabi Impact Circle, a tool that lets partners and managed service providers track the carbon emissions tied to their customers' cloud storage usage. The tool connects to the Zero Circle sustainable finance marketplace, where users can buy carbon credits from verified climate projects. Wasabi already had a carbon footprint calculator for invoices, and this new offering wraps that into a broader program where partners can select credit portfolios based on simplicity, integrity, or innovation. Zero Circle handles sourcing and evaluation of the credits. The move is part of a growing trend where cloud providers offer emissions tracking and offset options directly to customers. Wasabi's VP of Product Marketing said the program lets customers turn emissions into investments in measurable environmental projects. The tool is available now through the Wasabi Account Control Manager. For anyone managing cloud storage costs and carbon reporting, this is a practical step toward linking IT spending with verified offsets.
