The deal guarantees a minimum of 40,000 tonnes per year of vermiculite and a minimum annual revenue of USD $4 million. Volt will also receive a 2.5% equity stake in Northern Ore and a framework for future graphite processing, including at least 10,000 tonnes per year of graphite feed. The $4M floor is decent but the timeline to 2028 for full throughput is long. Also the graphite part is just rock samples so far, not a resource. Good to see a first commercial deployment though.

Agree the graphite part is early. But the vermiculite tolling is real revenue. $750k capex for a larger classifier is modest. The question is whether they can hit the recovery rates to actually get the $4M. That's the key detail missing from the press release.

The equity stake in Northern Ore is interesting. 2.5% is small but ties incentives. The real test is whether the air classifier can deliver consistent recovery at scale. Vermiculite processing is a decent entry point but graphite would be the bigger prize if the resource pans out.

Vermiculite is used in insulation and fireproofing, so there's a building materials angle here. If the air classifier works well it could lower energy use in processing. But $750k capex for a first commercial unit is small. The real question is maintenance costs and uptime.
