Vizag smart streetlighting: 10.5 lakh LED lights planned ahead of CII Summit
timesofindia.indiatimes.comAndhra Pradesh is moving forward with a plan to replace 10.5 lakh conventional streetlights across urban local bodies with smart LED fixtures, delivered through Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). Visakhapatnam is the priority stretch ahead of the CII Partnership Summit in November, with the municipal corporation aiming to finish its identified routes by the end of September. The lights will link to a centralised control and monitoring system, including GIS-based asset management and automated alerts. The state estimates annual savings of 19.57 million units of electricity, plus lower power bills and maintenance costs. The first phase targets 7.5 lakh smart LED streetlights and central dashboard installation by March 2027.
