Virgin Media O2 has signed a 10 year Power Purchase Agreement with Egg Power to source electricity from a new 70MW solar farm in Suffolk. The project is expected to start generating power in 2027 and will cover approximately 5% of the company's total energy demand. This agreement is part of a broader strategy to reach net zero emissions across the entire value chain by 2040. Combined with a previous wind power deal, about 20% of the operator's energy usage will now be covered by long term renewable PPAs.
