Vioneo Moves Fossil-Free Plastic Plant from Belgium to China

Vioneo, a green chemical startup backed by AP Moller Holding, has relocated its planned 300,000 ton fossil-free plastic factory from Antwerp, Belgium, to China. The company cites China's mature green methanol supply chain, faster construction speeds, and supportive policy environment as the primary drivers for the move. The facility will utilize Honeywell methanol-to-olefin technology and renewable energy to eliminate fossil raw materials from the production process. Once operational, the plant is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1.5 million tons annually.
