Verdane Invests in Xpansiv to Expand Carbon Credit, REC, and Clean Fuel Market Infrastructure
carboncredits.comXpansiv, the company behind registries and marketplaces for carbon credits, renewable energy certificates, and clean fuels, has taken a growth investment from European firm Verdane. The size of the deal was not disclosed. Xpansiv says it will use the capital for acquisitions, new products, and international expansion. The deal comes as demand grows for systems that register, verify, trade, and retire environmental certificates. The company says its registry network supports more than 320 GW of renewable capacity across 60 countries, and about 28% of RECs issued globally in 2025 were managed through its registries. It also recently agreed to buy Formbay, an Australian rooftop solar and battery certificate platform. With carbon credit capital reaching $22 billion in 2025 and REC markets expanding, Xpansiv is positioning itself as the digital infrastructure behind these growing environmental markets.
