VASO Global, a UK construction materials company based in Dumfries and Galloway, has appointed Douglas Morrison, Deputy CEO of Built Environment Smarter Transformation (BE-ST), as a strategic advisor to its board. The company manufactures structural composite panels from recycled glass and recently opened a 60,000 square foot factory that is expected to create up to 70 jobs. The appointment strengthens VASO Global's focus on reducing carbon in the built environment. Morrison brings experience from BE-ST, Scotland's national innovation centre for construction, which aims to accelerate the transition to a zero carbon construction sector. VASO Global's panels are positioned as a solution to both the housing crisis and the need for lower carbon building materials. The company says its manufacturing process converts waste glass into high performance structural panels. With the new factory and board appointment, VASO Global is scaling up production for the UK housing market and beyond.
