Valmet chosen for Louisiana Green Fuels carbon-negative biomass power and CCS project
biomassmagazine.comValmet will supply a circulating fluidized bed boiler and flue gas cleaning systems for the Louisiana Green Fuels project in Caldwell Parish. The plant is designed to generate over 300 MW gross using forestry residuals and capture CO2 for permanent geologic storage, aiming for carbon-negative power. Strategic Biofuels picked Valmet after lining up partners for each part of the project. The site will consume more than 3.5 million tons of forestry residuals per year, roughly 400 truckloads daily. The project's carbon-negative claim depends on sustainable sourcing, capture performance, and verified sequestration in a permitted reservoir.
