Vallourec has won a contract to supply premium tubular solutions for the first phase of the Prinos CO2 storage project offshore Greece. The order covers about 3,000 tons of casing pipes and accessories, including corrosion-resistant alloy and VAM premium connections. The project aims to convert a depleted oil reservoir into a permanent CO2 storage site with a target injection capacity of 2.8 million tons per year and a total proved plus probable capacity of 51.5 million tons, as independently verified by NSAI. Prinos CO2 is recognized by the European Union as a Project of Common Interest and has support from European and Greek funding programs. Vallourec's scope also includes its dope-free CLEANWELL solution, which reduces environmental impact during installation. The contract strengthens Vallourec's position in carbon capture and storage and gives it a platform for future phases and other CCS projects across Europe.
