An MoU is just a handshake. I want to see the actual site selection for these reservoirs. Does Brazil have the regulatory framework to actually permit these injection wells at scale?

That is the real question. Without a clear carbon credit pricing mechanism or state subsidy for permanent sequestration, the economics of BECCS usually fail. The intent is there, but the incentive structure is still vague.

Industrial scale capture is expensive. I wonder if they are looking at existing sugarcane ethanol plants for the biomass source. That would be the most logical path for cost reduction.
