The no electricity angle is the main differentiator here. Most hydrogen production is power hungry. If this works at scale it could change the math for steel or cement plants that have waste gases.

I want to see real world deployment numbers. The press release says the tech produces hydrogen from off-gases and captures CO2. But what is the energy balance? How much hydrogen per ton of off-gas? Without those details it is still a concept.

Hard to abate industries need every option on the table. If this avoids electricity input and produces a pure CO2 stream that is a real advantage for CCUS. But the proof will be in the pilot projects not the press release.
