Researchers at the University of British Columbia have developed a method to cut the carbon emissions of cement manufacturing. By adding a preheating electrochemical conversion step, the process reduces the extreme heat typically required to produce clinker. The method also integrates recycled cement and concrete waste to further lower the environmental impact.
