Good point. But if the calculator measures actual carbon intensity reduction regardless of intent, then it does not matter why they do it. The market pays for the verified result. That is the whole point of a performance based standard.

Small farm participation is the hard part. A field level carbon intensity assessment costs money. If the premium is thin, only large operations will bother. The calculator needs to be cheap and fast or this stays a big farm program.
