Researchers at the University of Tehran have created a composite photocatalyst using CuBi2S4 quantum dots, Al2WO6 double perovskite, and Ti3C2 MXene. This material uses visible light to drive chemical reactions that reduce carbon dioxide and nitrates, offering a potential path for industrial emissions reduction. The new structure employs a Schottky/Z-scheme heterojunction to improve efficiency. By harnessing visible light, the technology aims to advance both renewable energy production and the removal of pollutants from the environment.
