The University of Sheffield has joined the UK Packaging Pact, a ten-year initiative led by WRAP to transform how packaging is produced and managed. The program aims to reduce waste and emissions by expanding reuse and refill systems and improving recycling infrastructure across the UK. This move supports the university's sustainability strategy to tackle Scope 3 emissions, which make up 90 percent of its carbon footprint. By embedding circular economy principles into procurement and reducing single-use materials, the university aims to lower the environmental impact of its supply chains.
