Two final-year business students from the University of Brighton spent a year analyzing the carbon footprint of marketing firm Arke Agency. Their recommendations led to operational changes like better recycling, reduced waste collections, and a new Cycle to Work scheme. Arke now encourages staff to use public transport for 90% of work journeys. The work was part of the university's Carbon Accounting module, where students apply classroom theory to real business challenges. Arke's EcoVadis submission earned a bronze rating, placing it in the top 35% of assessed companies globally. The agency plans to continue the partnership next year, hosting placements and supporting student employability.
