Universal Floral earns Carbon Neutral Certification, offsets 25.3 tonnes against a 17.5 tonne footprint
sustainableconstruction-now.comUniversal Floral, a biophilic design and plant maintenance firm, has been certified Carbon Neutral by Carbon Neutral Britain for its UK operations. Between May 2025 and April 2026, the company measured 17.5 tonnes of CO2e and offset 25.3 tonnes through projects including wind power in India, mangrove restoration in Pakistan, and reforestation in Colombia and Tanzania. The certification covers UK operations only. Most emissions came from Scope 3 business travel, which the company says it will cut by encouraging public transport and replacing short-haul flights with virtual meetings. Universal Floral also contributed to UK rewilding and seagrass restoration projects. The case shows how small service companies can use carbon offsetting while working on internal reductions. The bigger question is whether the offsets meet recognized verification standards and whether the company publishes a concrete reduction plan for 2030 and 2050.
