Unilever, Cathay Financial Holdings, and Princeton Digital Group have joined the 24/7 Carbon-Free Coalition, a group pushing companies to match their electricity use with carbon-free sources on an hourly basis. The coalition, launched by the Climate Group in 2024, already includes Google, AstraZeneca, and Vodafone UK. Members must measure and report hourly matched electricity in at least one market within two years, aiming to improve grid resilience and reduce exposure to volatile energy prices. More than 1,500 businesses now match electricity to hourly data, triple the number from 2025. UK energy suppliers have quadrupled their hourly tariff offerings. Google, a founding member, targets 24/7 carbon-free energy on every grid where it operates by 2030. The coalition shares lessons on procurement strategies that help companies gain better price stability and visibility into their energy use.
