The carbon storage numbers are impressive on paper but the article does not say how long that carbon stays locked up. Seagrass can release it if disturbed. Need permanence data.

The article mentions 21,000 seedlings cultivated and seed deployment technology. That is a lot of manual work for 10 hectares. Scaling this to meet the 15 percent national target will need automation or much bigger nurseries.

10 hectares is not huge in absolute terms but the carbon uptake per hectare is high. The real test is whether the seedlings survive and the no anchor zones hold. Monitoring will be key.
