It is interesting that the focus is entirely on capturing emissions from traditional cement. There is very little mention of reducing the total volume of cement needed through better building design or alternative materials. Capture is great, but efficiency is usually cheaper.

Efficiency helps, but you can't build a hyperscale data center or offshore wind foundations with just a few less bags of concrete. Some industries have a hard floor on material needs. That is why the CCUS conversation is actually happening now.
