Carbon capture requires a huge amount of energy to run the solvent recovery and compression. If the UK grid is already struggling with interconnection and high industrial prices, where is the extra capacity coming from to power these CCUS projects?

That is the real bottleneck. The MPA mentions carbon capture policy support, but they do not specify the energy requirements. We can have all the policy in the world, but if the grid cannot handle the load, the projects stay on paper.
