The UK's Blue Planet Fund has committed £2.2 million to six projects under the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA). The funding will scale proven pilots in blue carbon credits, parametric insurance for small-scale fishers, and community-led mangrove conservation across Kenya, Indonesia, Tanzania, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. The projects include the world's first impact bond for small-scale fishers in Indonesia, a weather index-based parametric insurance product for Kenyan fishers, and a community-led mangrove blue carbon initiative in Tanzania. The UK's total funding for ORRAA now stands at £15.5 million, supporting 36 projects across 19 countries.

Agreed. The blue carbon exchange in the Dominican Republic and the seagrass project in Kenya under Plan Vivo are interesting. Seagrass carbon accounting is still maturing though.
