U.S. Energy Corp has reached a Final Investment Decision for Phase 1 of the Big Sky Carbon Hub. The project targets the refinement of 125,000 metric tons of CO2 per year and the production of high purity helium, with commercial operations expected to begin in early 2027. The company has secured a fixed scope EPC agreement and a five year helium offtake deal. Additionally, MRV submissions are currently under EPA review, which could unlock approximately 130 million dollars in Section 45Q tax credits to support the project's financial viability.
