Australia's Nature Repair Market added two new registered projects in New South Wales. The Nortongong Biodiversity Restoration Project near Coonamble and a project at Silva Capital's Cooplacurripa Station will restore native forest and woodland ecosystems through local species planting, feral pest control, and weed reduction. Both proponents run ongoing agricultural businesses and are stacking the nature repair work with existing ACCU environmental plantings projects. The government says the market now covers 2,656 hectares of land under restoration. Land managers will soon get a second Nature Repair Market method for enhancing biodiversity on land with existing native vegetation, and EPBC Act reforms will allow these projects to be used as environmental offsets. That combination could shift demand from voluntary buyers to compliance-driven buyers, making integrity rules on stacking and additionality more important.
