Tweed Shire Council Earns A-Rating from Carbon Disclosure Project

Tweed Shire Council has received an A-rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project, joining a small group of Asia-Pacific cities recognized for high standards in climate governance and emissions reporting. The rating follows the development of a community-wide emissions inventory and new climate risk adaptation plans. To maintain this benchmark, the council plans to implement science-based emissions reduction targets and expand tracking to include hydrofluorocarbons. The strategy also includes an Energy Affordability program to help local residents manage rising power costs.
