Turkish company Altaga Energy and British firm Firefly have signed an agreement to build sustainable aviation fuel facilities in the UK. The project will use Turkish hydrothermal liquefaction technology to convert organic waste into bio-oil, a primary step in creating low-carbon jet fuel. This partnership aims to reduce the aviation sector's reliance on fossil fuels by establishing local production of SAF. By utilizing waste-to-fuel technology, the companies intend to lower costs and decrease the industry's vulnerability to global supply chain disruptions.
