Vår Energi CCS, Aker Solutions, and Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers have signed an MoU to develop the Trudvang carbon capture and storage project. The initiative aims to provide CO2 transport and storage solutions for European industrial customers, utilizing the Utsira Formation in the North Sea. The project targets an initial injection capacity of 2 million tonnes per year, with potential scaling up to 20 million tonnes. The partners are focusing on optimizing unmanned platform designs and subsea solutions to lower operational costs and environmental impact before reaching a final investment decision.
