Gamifying conservation is fine for awareness, but these small behavioral shifts are a drop in the bucket compared to building envelope upgrades. I would rather see the PUD push for heat pump rebates or weatherization grants.
Agreed. There is a big difference between a lifestyle challenge and a structural policy that actually moves the needle on carbon accounting for a district.
Only 54 people completed this last year. That is a tiny sample size for a utility district. I wonder if they are tracking any actual load reduction on the grid or if this is just a PR exercise.
