Trinasolar Solar Modules Power New South Wales First Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Facility
aapnews.aap.com.auTrinasolar has been selected to supply solar modules for the Good Earth Green Hydrogen and Ammonia (GEGHA) project near Moree, New South Wales. The 27MW solar farm will use Trinasolar's Vertex S+ modules with n-type i-TOPCon technology, designed for durability and low degradation. The facility is expected to produce up to 200 tonnes of green hydrogen and 4,500 tonnes of low-carbon ammonia annually, aiming to replace imported fossil fuel-based fertilizers and reduce agricultural emissions. Construction is underway, and the project serves as a commercial pilot for decentralized hydrogen and fertilizer production in regional Australia. By combining solar generation with green hydrogen production, the project demonstrates a practical pathway to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors like agriculture. The use of high-efficiency solar modules supports stable energy yield and long-term project economics, critical for replicating this model across other regions.
