Travis Perkins has launched CONNECT, a carbon calculator aimed at simplifying Scope 3 reporting for construction customers. The tool maps weight to CO2e for more than 120,000 products, using manufacturer EPD data where available and recognised industry datasets elsewhere. Every delivery is captured in real time and matched to a carbon value, which removes the manual line by line data entry that subcontractors previously had to do for carbon reporting. CONNECT is being rolled out across Travis Perkins, CCF, Keyline, BSS and Travis Perkins Managed Services. For builders merchants and contractors, the practical value is in having consistent, product level carbon data attached to deliveries rather than relying on estimates. The platform also covers upstream and downstream reporting, so customers can use the same data for both procurement decisions and client facing disclosures.

Real time delivery data matched to carbon factors is straightforward and useful. The harder part is keeping the factors accurate across 120k products when manufacturing inputs change. If they publish the update frequency and source per product, this becomes credible. Otherwise it is just a nice dashboard.
