Trace One and Carbon Maps Partner to Automate Product Carbon Footprint and LCA for Food and Beverage
mykxlg.comTrace One and Carbon Maps announced a partnership that connects Trace One's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform with Carbon Maps' sustainability software. Food and beverage companies using Trace One can now pull recipe, ingredient, and packaging data directly into Carbon Maps to calculate Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) and run Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) without re-entering data. That removes a major bottleneck in environmental reporting, especially for companies with large product ranges. The integration also supports France's voluntary environmental labeling scheme, Le Coût Environnemental, using the government's Ecobalyse methodology. Carbon Maps says it has already calculated more than two million product and packaging LCAs and maintains more than 34,000 emission factors across over 100 sourcing origins. The partnership is aimed at helping companies assess the climate impact of ingredient swaps, supplier changes, and packaging decisions earlier in the product development process, rather than after products hit the market.
