Toyota Motor Philippines ran its TGR Philippine Cup race cars on low-carbon biofuels during the second race weekend at Clark International Speedway. The Vios models used E20 bioethanol, while the Tamaraw vehicles ran on B5 coco-biodiesel. Toyota calls the event a rolling laboratory to measure performance and reliability under racing conditions. The data will be shared with government agencies to support wider biofuel adoption in the Philippines. Toyota says about 75% of its gasoline models already accept E20, and all diesel models can run on B5. The company sees locally sourced biofuels as a way to cut petroleum imports, boost energy security, and create demand for coconut and sugarcane feedstocks. This is part of Toyota's multi-pathway carbon neutrality strategy, which avoids betting on a single technology. The series continues at Batangas Racing Circuit in August and closes at Clark in September.
