Nice demo, but where does the HVO100 actually come from? Imported or local? The parade uses 40 trucks, but real adoption depends on refinery capacity and price. This is a good example of a low-carbon fuel that doesn't need new vehicles. But policy matters: Australia has no fuel standard that credits HVO100 yet. Without a mandate or subsidy, it'll stay a niche product. If they want broader uptake, they need to tie it to a carbon intensity framework, not just a parade.

The beauty here is no retrofits needed for 2015+ HiLux. That's a huge existing fleet that can cut emissions overnight. But maintenance and warranty? Toyota says it's compatible, so that helps.
